About us
Infinitum operates the Norwegian deposit system, and together with the Norwegian people, we have made Norway one of the world’s leading countries when it comes to deposit returns.
What has brought us here is as simple as it is ingenious: when more people return their empty bottles and cans, everyone wins. Producers and importers take responsibility for their beverage containers and pay lower environmental tax; you get your deposit back when you return your empty bottles and cans, and together we help protect the environment.

How we became the world leader in deposit returns
Deposit schemes in Norway began in 1902, and Infinitum was established in 1999 to operate the system on behalf of the industry.

Currently, there are over 3500 reverse vending machine locations in Norway, and millions of empty bottles and cans are returned every day. The goal is to make it easy for everyone to do the right thing – together.
